Dear Friends,
Hello, and welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. I am Miss Gosnell, your student’s passionate first grade teacher. I am very excited to get this year underway.
I can’t wait to get to know you all better as the year progresses! Until then, I would like to tell you a little bit about me. I grew up in Independence, where I taught first grade and kindergarten for four years. In an effort to grow and challenge myself professionally, I landed with a teaching position here in Liberty Public Schools. I am thrilled to be a part of such a great district and community for a third year. :)
I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I also graduated with my Masters Degree in English Language Learners Education also from Northwest (GO BEARCATS!). I love to travel, play golf, be outdoors, and read. I am driven by my leading passion: lifelong learning. I have always had a heart for kids and I love to open their world up to learning and exploration. I believe that excitement is contagious and I facilitate the classroom this way.
Throughout my experience, I have learned so much from my students and families. I am a firm believer that together we are the driving force for your child’s academic success. Relationships and communication are very important to me. I hope to work closely with you to ensure maximum achievement for your student. Contact me anytime by phone, e-mail, or by note.
~ Learning is their journey, let them fly!
Sincerely,
Julie Gosnell
